This imported series was arguably the Russia’s first sci-fi cult classic. It was a serialized television series which ran from 1983-1987 on a few state-owned Russian and Ukrainian television stations after midnight. Unfortunately public utilities often restricted television broadcast signals at that hour, so the series had almost no viewers.
